Suzanne Gallagher is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over fifteen years of experience caring for adults across Connecticut. She earned her master's degree from New York University and provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management in person in New Canaan and by telehealth statewide.
Treatment Philosophy
Suzanne's care is collaborative and built on continuity: you work with one clinician who knows your history, not a rotating roster. Every treatment decision starts with a thorough evaluation — she doesn't prescribe before understanding the full picture — and continues as an ongoing conversation about what's working, what isn't, and what to adjust.
Who She Helps
Suzanne treats adults across Connecticut with anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, and mood disorders, with particular clinical strength in women's and perinatal mental health — pregnancy, postpartum, and hormonal transitions.
Scope of Practice
As a board-certified PMHNP, Suzanne provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management. She may prescribe psychiatric medications — and, when clinically appropriate after evaluation and compliant with federal and Connecticut law, controlled medications such as stimulants for ADHD. Prescribing decisions always follow a thorough evaluation and ongoing monitoring.
What This Practice Is Not
This is not a high-volume prescription mill, and it's not urgent care. Suzanne intentionally keeps her practice small enough to know her patients, review every new-patient request personally, and provide genuinely continuous care. If you're experiencing a mental health emergency, call 988 or 911.
